Compete 2030 programme supports SMEs to boost their innovation projects

We are marking the International Day of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises by drawing attention to the Compete 2030 Programme, which has opened two new Calls for Proposals with a total allocation of 500 million euros for Support for Productive Innovation.

This funding is a significant opportunity for SMEs in Portugal to boost their innovation projects.

Today We Celebrate World SME Day!

On this day, we recognize the impact of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the global and national economy. SMEs are fundamental for innovation, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.

We mark this day by highlighting the Compete 2030 Programme, which has launched two new calls for proposals with a total allocation of 500 million euros for Productive Innovation Support. This funding is a significant opportunity for SMEs in Portugal to boost their innovation projects.

Details of the Calls:

These supports are intended for initiatives such as the creation of new establishments, capacity expansion, production diversification, and improvements in production processes, always focusing on tradable and internationalizable goods and services with high added value.

Key Benefits:

  • Co-financing rate of up to 40%
  • Increase up to 60% for micro and small businesses in specific regions
  • Additional increases for projects in priority areas such as Industry 4.0 and climate transition

Important Deadlines:

  • Phase 1: until 16/09/2024
  • Phase 2: until 30/12/2024
